The Netherlands, and Europe more broadly, is rolling out physical infrastructure at a pace that hasn’t been seen in fifty years. Grid expansion under net congestion. EV charging at scale. Deposit-return networks. Shared mobility hubs. Retail networks repositioning around new demographic realities.
Every one of these rollouts has the same shape: thousands of candidate locations, dozens of constraints per candidate, a political and regulatory layer on top, and a calendar that doesn’t allow for the old way of doing it.
Locata is our answer to that shape. Multi-model AI scoring against the European public-data stack, with reasoning per location, delivered in days. Not a fix for permitting, not a replacement for expertise — but a different shape of the bottleneck.

Tech_42 is a Dutch software studio that builds AI products in partnership with vertical operators. Locata is one of those products — built in collaboration with the customers it serves, refined against the real engagements it ships.
The relationship matters because it sets the boundary of what Locata is and what it isn’t. Locata isn’t a general-purpose location platform looking for use cases. It was built for the verticals it now serves, by the team that delivered the first engagements.

We don’t replace permitting, we don’t automate decisions on public space, we don’t train public models on customer data. These are design choices.
